As a registered nurse by trade I have always been connected to helping people reach their optimal health–for me yoga is a holistic extension of my professional career. I fell in love with yoga over a decade ago due to an injury that could have stopped me from continuing my daily fitness routine.  The healing effects of yoga not only healed my injury it enhanced my fitness ability.  Seven years ago I opened Essence of Yoga Studio to help people  relieve stress through the healing practice of yoga.  I want to share this practice with my students so the awareness, flexibility and openness they gain from class can benefit every aspect of their lives as well as touch the people they interact with on a daily basis. I am also certified in pre-natal yoga and Reiki.

Jeanne Monaghan, RYT

Jeanne’s style is eclectic with influences from Ashtanga, Hatha, Anusura and Iygenar yoga. Her goal is to guide students through a mindful, meditative, breath-centered practice that encourages the student to find balance, between effort and grace in each pose, purifying the body, and bringing clarity to the mind. She began practicing yoga 15 years ago and received her 200hr teacher certification through the Healing Movement School of Yoga.

I have been practicing yoga for about 20 years.  I decided to take my practice to the next level in 2012 when I received my 200 hour teaching title with the Yoga Institute.  I am a registered member of the yoga alliance.  In addition to yoga I am an Advanced Reiki Practitioner under the Usui lineage.  I am an ordained minister in the order of Melchizedik and I have done training in breath work and the chakra energy system.

My goal in the beginning was to help others live a more healthier life, physically and spiritually. Although this goal has not changed, it has grown. This experience has taught me the importance of helping people live more open heartedly. I look forward to spreading this to others so that, “We can all be the change we wish to see in the world.” ~ ~ ~ Namaste

Teacher certification from the Healing Movements Yoga Training under the teaching of Lorijean Gentzlinger and is certified by the Yoga Alliance.    Kerriann began her love affair with yoga during college in 2001.   She has experience in a variety of yoga styles including Vinyasa and Bikram.  Kerriann brings a contagious energy and charm to her classes, leaving her students feeling uplifted and full of peace. Kerriann focuses on finding each individual student’s balance between challenge and comfort. She heavily focuses on tuning the breath with the movements to better align the body and mind.  She is a firm believer in the law of attraction and encourages her students to set positive intentions for their practices.

JackieJacqueline Lee, RYT

A gentle reminder that the goal of yoga is not to touch our toes, but to quiet our minds so that we may be present for every moment in our lives.

Jacqueline was brought to her first yoga class feeling broken and lost after returning home from an extremely difficult time while away at college. The overwhelming feeling of love and light that followed that first savasana is what inspired Jacqueline to continue practicing yoga daily and eventually pursue a teacher training program. She completed her 200-hour YTT in December 2015 at The Yoga Room School of Long Island, RYS, in Massapequa, NY, under the guidance of Lucia Tucci Dipalo. Specializing in Hatha yoga, Jacqueline’s classes aim to balance the more standing active heating poses, with the more calming and cooling poses so that each student can find that moving meditation with their body and breath reaching an optimal state of balance and relaxation.

MicheleMichele Vallone, RYT

My intention is to hold a space where people can experience presence and an authentic version of themselves.

Michele has been happily teaching vinyasa-based classes since 2006, and she credits her elementary school teacher, for instilling a love for yoga — “I was hooked at my first lion’s breath.” Michele’s style is influenced by her trainings in Rahini yoga, which blends Hatha and Kundalini with a Buddhist approach to spiritual harmony, and Healing Movement yoga, where under the watchful eye of Lori Gentzlinger, she learned the fluid connection between physical alignment and energetic alignment. When you roll out your mat and practice with Michele, students can expect to open up the body and open up the breath for better life balance and health.
